As a seven year survivor of metastatic breast cancer, living life to the fullest has been a challenge. The many ups and downs of treatments and side effects are akin to an out-of-control roller coaster.
But life has so much to offer us, it's important to focus on what we do have, what we are capable of doing and not focus on what we have lost.
I recently decided to cancel my spring and summer lecture series- a very difficult decision as I am passionate about art and teaching. But when one door closes, another door opens. I am grateful that I can still make art, write, read, walk my dog, cook and even plant some flowers. I just don't know how I'll be feeling one day to the next so it's hard to make commitments.
I'd like to use this blog as a journal and dialog about healing and what it means to me. For some, healing is a life-changing miracle. For me, healing is about enjoying and being grateful for the life I have every day, especially the good days. Additionally,I'd like to include posts and images on the healing power of art.
I welcome everyone to post comments. In one way or another, we are all on the healing path.
